The Falabella Miniature Horse
The Falabella is a unique and rare horse breed and is considered the original Miniature Horse. The Falabella has a rich history, going back to the mid 19th Century when Falabellas were bred in Argentina for their size and stamina. Falabellas are spirited animals when playing but they are also docile, making them great for use in equine therapy.

Our Falabellas

The Purebred Falabella
In order to be considered a Falabella the pedigree of the horse must be traceable to the original Argentinian bloodlines originally bred by Mr. Julio Cesar Falabella. All our Falabellas have been DNA tested and are registered with the Falabella Studbook (TFS), the only authorised daughter studbook of Asociacion de Criadores de Caballos Falabella (ACCF).

Falabella Furries
Falabellas are bred from the horses of the Argentine meadowlands, where they were forced to move great distances to find water. They had to withstand the strong sun, cold winds and fierce storms. Due to their natural rusticity, they easily adapt to severe weather conditions.
We believe in keeping our horses as close to nature as possible, giving preference to natural grazing and shelter. As horses are natural foragers we encourage them walk to different ground surfaces with natural uneven terrain, have access to woodland and shrubs and healthy natural growing herbs to support their immune system and branches to grind their teeth on. They always have access to fresh water and a salt or mineral lick.

Falabellas thrive living outdoors with shelter and are suitable to the British weather. Due to their thick wither fur, unless they are clipped, they will not need to be rugged.

Falabella Fun
Falabellas have a fantastic disposition. Gentle and intelligent, Falabellas are easy to train, fun to work with and suitable to many different activities. Due to their small size and docile nature, Falabellas are highly suitable to work in therapy environments. From teaching them Circus tricks to agility to liberty training and driving in harness, the Falabella is a versatile little horse. These activities keep both of you fit and will strengthen your bond.

Falabella Facts
Falabellas range in sizes and colours but no matter how small, they should retain the proportions of a horse. If you choose a Falabella you are in for the long run, as they can grow to 45 years of age.

It has been confirmed that these little horses' hearts are the same size as a large horse, which may be the reason for their longevity. Whatever the cause, they certainly have a heart large enough to love everyone they meet.
